Assemblies

Overview

Avion manufactures and tests a variety of assemblies including mechanical and hydraulic assemblies. We have a ‘white room’ facility for highly sensitive equipment which requires air particulate and environmental controls while assembling.

Assembly Services:

  • Assembly of multi-level mechanical parts and components
  • Installation of hardware - bearings, bushings, pins, etc. with shrink (hot and cold) capabilities
  • Electrical Wiring and Soldering
  • Hydraulics Assembly

Additional Services Available:

Gear Box Assembly and testing is our core competence. Avion has open multi-year contracts to manufacture, assemble, and test multiple part gear boxes. Avion also offers assembly and test services where customers supply their parts and employ our facilities and expertise in providing them with a fully functional and certified gear box. Other times, we receive worn- or broken-down boxes which require a full overhaul. We can reverse engineer parts; manufacture new, or better, ones; then re-assemble and test the box to ensure it performs to OEM specifications or better.

Avion provides component kits for delivery right to the aircraft assembly line. Customers use our kitting services to reduce their inventory and operate in a ‘Just In Time’ manufacturing manner. This process requires great trust in Avion’s quality and workmanship of parts since the parts are delivered directly to the assembly line and therefore released at source. It also requires great trust in Avion’s ability to control their production planning and supply chain so that there are no interruptions to supply of component kits to the customer’s line. Avion proudly provides these services to their customers in the aerospace industry.

Avion manages its SCM business through a robust manufacturing software which controls processes from quote/sales to procurement, stores production and delivery to the customer. The software can also track raw materials to finished products, this allows Avion to compile delivery documentation packages as per the customer’s requirements.

Avion’s manufacturing software allows its SCM processes to control split production batches either internally or externally – this supports outsourced production or special process activities as applicable. Avion can purchase material directly to the production jobs and complete LIFO, FIFO and average and standard costing inventory. The software can also track vendor’s on-time and scrap performance and allow generation of reports to measure Avion’s vendor’s performance. The software can automatically generate packing slips, bills of lading and shipping labels with hardware identification.
